Our story
About Lemunch
Lemunch started with a single lemon olive-oil cake and a very heated argument about whether it was actually good. Benedict said five. Jack said four-and-a-half and wouldn't budge. We realized every meal we shared ended the same way — two honest, slightly stubborn opinions — so we stopped fighting and started publishing.
Today Lemunch is a record of everything we taste: the coastal trattorias, the midnight pasta experiments, the recipes we've butchered and the ones we've nailed. Every review gets two ratings, never averaged, so you can see exactly where a dish wins us both over — and where it splits the table.
Why lemons? Because they're bright, a little sharp, impossible to ignore, and they make almost everything better. Same energy we're going for.
The squeeze team
Meet Benedict & Jack
Two mascots, two personalities, two ratings on every single post.
Benedict
the optimist
Runs the kitchen and the enthusiasm. Believes almost everything can be saved with more butter and more lemon, and rates with his heart. Generous with fives — but you have to earn them.
Jack
the skeptic
Cool, unhurried, impossible to impress on the first bite. Rates with his head and a raised eyebrow. When Jack gives a five, you should probably book a table immediately.
